Nut & Seed Bark

Bullterfly plate with nut and seek bark

It is true! There are things in life that are delicious and also good for you… this Nut & Seed Bark is a fine example. And even better, it is easy to make and is equally at home at the end of a dinner party or to quench that afternoon sweet craving.

Did you know that consuming nuts can lower your risk of heart disease? As with seeds, they are high in good fats, a good source of non-animal protein, high in fibre, and packed with antioxidants, vitamins and minerals (E, B6, niacin and folate, magnesium, zine, iron, calcium, selenium and potassium). A perfect reason to have a second piece, I say!

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C.

  3. Mix remaining ingredients and bake in the oven till toasted, about 10 minutes.
  4. Spread the chocolate out on greaseproof paper so that it is about 2 or 3mm thick.
  5. Top the chocolate with toasted nut mix spread carefully and press down.
  6. Leave it to cool and then pop it into the fridge to harden.
  7. When you are ready to serve the bark, break it up into pieces.
